Yesterday at school we all had to do the Cross Country run. The different age groups ran different distances. My age group ran a whole lap of our school grounds. I am in grade three and I had to run against the grade fours too. I came 2nd.  The people who came first, second or third got a medal. When I was about to get my medal the lady that was presenting the medals nearly gave me a first medal. I said, “Shoudn’t I be getting a second place medal.”

Here is a picture on  me getting my medal

Here is a picture of me, Ava and Jordi before the race.

Me, Ava and Jordi

Ava is in the yellow top, Jordi is in the red top and I am in the green top.

The older grades had to do two laps of the school ground. My sister is in grade six and it is her last year of school here at Leopold. My sister was hoping to come first and she did.

The kids from grade three and above that finished in the top ten places will compete aginst other schools in the district cross country run.

One university student chose to run every race and show us the correct track. He had to do the girls and boys so he ran more than ten laps of our school. I want to say well done to the university student, Ben.

Congratulations to all the people that did cross country.

Also congratulations to Mitchell who did six wheelchair laps of the basketball courts.

Did you do cross country running?

Do you like running?

What do you like about running?

Have you ever received a medal?

  1. @ Alana,

I loved this post about the cross country day at school.

You all did so well to run so far. In your picture you look very happy to be getting a medal.

I have not done any running, except chasing after you, since I was at school, which was a long time ago.
At school I enjoyed running but not now.
What I did like about running was that it was fun.
We never received medals at school, we just had the races. I don’t even think that we got a ribbon.

A great post and well done,
    Love Mum ♥♥♥♥♥♥

Thanks for saying I ran well. I also think I look very happy when I got my medal. I think it was funny when the lady was about to give me a first medal.

I want to give you a first medal for the best mum alive.

      Best Wishes,
      Alana

      • @ Alana,

I loved your reply to my comment. 🙂

I think any medal I received would be for grumpiness 😆

Yes it was funny when you nearly got the wrong medal. I saw you tell the lady that it was the wrong one.

Keep up the great work Lani,

        Love Mum ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

        • @ Mum,

          Thankyou for the great reply.

I think you would still get a gold medal for the best mum even if it was against the whole world.

I shouldn’t of told the lady the she gave me the wrong medal because then I would of got a gold medal, but it would me un-fair for the winner, Mikayla.

I’ll will try to keep up the good work.

Keep up the good work for being a mum,
          Alana

  3. Dear Alana,

I am so pleased to see that you are still blogging! I just thought I’d check the old 2KM students’ blogs and it was great to see a new post from you!

I really enjoyed watching you in the cross country and I can’t believe how well you did against all the grade threes and fours! I was very proud of you as I watched you cross the finish line.

Your sister is very fit like you and she did an amazing job. Please tell her congratulations from me!

Mitchell did a great job too and it was nice of you to mention him in your post.

I enjoying running too and I often run about 7km before school.

Had you been training for the cross country?

    Best wishes,

I also think that Mitchell did a great job. Mrs Morris I think you are so fit. Do you go out for runs very morning before school?

No I was not training for the cross country.

      Your old student,
      Alana

      • Dear Alana,

        Thanks for your great reply.

I’m surprised you did so well in the cross country without training! Actually I’m not that surprised as I think your family are just talented athletes!

Maybe you should do a bit of running before the districts and you could end up doing really, really well!

I don’t run every morning. Just a few mornings a week and I also do some weights and aerobics. It’s good to keep fit!

Are you looking forward to Easter?

        Your former teacher,
        Mrs M☀rris

Yes I’m looking forward to Easter. This morning I made Easter cards for my whole family, like my Auntys’, Uncles’ and that sort of thing. Are you looking forward to Easter?

I can’t wait till Easter because I get to see my family. I also love chocolate. Do you like chocolate?

  4. Hi Alana,

Great to hear from you again. You are so kind with your compliments.

Do you know how long the cross country run at the districts is?

I bet your family loved your Easter cards. I am looking forward to Easter. Nate’s parents will come down and we will all have lunch at my sister’s house. She said she is making a choc lava pudding for dessert. It sounds delicious!

Yes, I love chocolate and I have been eating too much lately 😳

What will you do for Easter?

    Best wishes,
