Easter

I am so excited that Easter is here.
Some people go to church on Easter Sunday to celebrate the meaning of Easter.
Easter is a day to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Also it is the day the Easter Bunny comes and brings us chocolate eggs, but not the real eggs. I love chocolate eggs, so does my whole family.
I got a Huge Easter Bunny, lots and lots of small chocolate eggs, a huge crunchie egg, a huge normal chocolate egg, a humpty dumpty eggs and m&m eggs. My whole family got the same.
For Easter we went on a holiday to Hamilton and thats what my next post will be about. So come back and look in a week or so.

2012 Cross Country

Yesterday at school we all had to do the Cross Country run. The different age groups ran different distances. My age group ran a whole lap of our school grounds. I am in grade three and I had to run against the grade fours too. I came 2nd. The people who came first, second or third got a medal. When I was about to get my medal the lady that was presenting the medals nearly gave me a first medal. I said, “Shoudn’t I be getting a second place medal.”

Ava is in the yellow top, Jordi is in the red top and I am in the green top.
The older grades had to do two laps of the school ground. My sister is in grade six and it is her last year of school here at Leopold. My sister was hoping to come first and she did.
The kids from grade three and above that finished in the top ten places will compete aginst other schools in the district cross country run.
One university student chose to run every race and show us the correct track. He had to do the girls and boys so he ran more than ten laps of our school. I want to say well done to the university student, Ben.
Congratulations to all the people that did cross country.
Also congratulations to Mitchell who did six wheelchair laps of the basketball courts.

Going to Werribee Zoo (2012)

Today I had a fun day because I went to the Werribee Open Range ,

When we got to the zoo we went on a bus safari tour around the zoo. We saw Zebras, Giraffes, Hippopotamus, Ostriches, Antelopes, Camels, Bison and Rhinoceros. The animals had lots of room to live in.
After the bus tour we walked around the zoo and saw the Lions, Cheetahs, Vervet Monkeys, Gorillas, Wild Dogs and the Meerkats. We also saw Kangaroos and Emus. Here is map of the zoo.
To be a zoo keeper you have to know a lot about animals. At the Werribee Zoo they have a program where you can be a zoo keeper for a day, but it costs $102.00 and you can read more about it right here: www.zoo.org.au/WerribeeOpenRangeZoo
My brother Ethan wants to be a Zoo keeper for a day. I think it would be fun!

I would like to welcome 2012 so….

Happy New Year
At the start of every year people make new goals.
My goals this year are to: Get better at spelling, to keep my blog going, to stay fit and healthy and to learn more new things.
I’m going to be in grade three this year and my teacher is going to be Mr Heenan. I’m sure he will teach me lots of new things, but
I will really miss Mrs Morris and Miss Jordan!
Here is a note for Mrs Morris and Miss Jordan.
Dear Mrs Morris and Miss Jordan,
You two have been a really great teachers. It was really fun working between two classes and having a class blog. I loved getting my own blog, thank you for giving me one.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Today I just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
Santa will be leaving soon and I am so excited! We are having a special dinner tonight, then putting out carrots, water and special reindeer food.
We will be putting out some yummy shortbread biscuits and milk for Santa too.
I dont know what time I’m getting up but I think it might be early.

Christmas traditions

Today my post is going to be about…
I chose to do a post about Christmas Traditions because it’s nearly Christmas and we all celebrate Christmas in different ways, and I’m getting really excited about Santa coming!
I love Christmas!
I LOVE Christmas because we all get presents and I also love giving people things. I will tell you the Christmas Secret , “It is better to give than to receive”.
Last year I think I got about 20 presents. But I also gave presents to lots of people in my family.
Some things I like to do at Christmas are:
- Eat a special breakfast of croissants, yoghurt and fresh fruit. Yum Yum!
- Well every Christmas we got to one of my Aunty’s houses, my Uncle’s house or sometimes we all celebrate at my house
- I like to play with my cousins, my brother and my sister
- play with my new toys
- Look if Santa has eaten his food that we gave him
and lots more.
Things I like to do on Christmas Eve are:
- Sit down with my family and have a special dinner with our bon bons and hats
- Go for a drive and look at all tha fantastic Christmas lights
- Make magic Reeinder food
- Watch videos of my familys Christmas’ together and watch my brother,my sister and I open all our presents
- Leave some milk and shortbread for Santa
- Leave some carrots, water and reindeer food for all Santa’s Reindeer
and lots more
Hope you like what I chose!
My family and I put my Christmas tree up a week ago and it looked bare at the start and at the end it looked fabulous!
Dad also put lights up on the outside of our house, and they look fabulous too!!

Cooking With Daisy

Today I cooked with Daisy my mascot and my mum. We made Jelly Slice and it was so yummy! Daisy is my mascots name. Thanks for all your help with trying to name her.
here is the recipe:
I packet Marie biscuits 180grams melted butter
400gram tin condensed milk , 2 teaspoons gelatine dissolved in 3/4 cup boiling water and juice of 2 lemons
1 packet jelly crystals and boiling water
Mix crushed bisciuts and melted butter together. Press into lined slice tray
Blend condensed milk with lemon juiceand dissolved gelatine. Spread over the biscuit base and put in the fridge until set.
Make up the jelly as the packet says. Cool before pouring over slice. Refrigerate until set, then eat
